Aline Bittar Künzel is a Brazilian artist currently based in London. Her recent work considers the notion of ‘contained vastness’, revealing a fragile balance between control and release, fluidity and stillness. Bodies of water and natural landscapes serve as central motifs, playing with perspective to create spaces that oscillate between intimacy and expansiveness.

Rooted in oil painting, her practice is guided by gestures inspired by collage — cropping, layering, and removing. Drawing from fragmented imagery, she constructs works that blur the boundary between definition and dissolution.

She is currently completing an MA in Painting at the Royal College of Art, and holds a BA in Fine Art from Central Saint Martins (2021). She has exhibited in London and internationally. Her work reflects on nature as perceived, questioning the relationship between observer and participant in an era of environmental change.
